4 Weeks of S.T.E.A.M Fun

Week One:

11/29 - What is Autumn? Craft-Fall Sensory Jars

Campers will engage in group discussion and activities discussing: What is autumn? What type of weather do we have in autumn? Why do the colors change by the season? Followed by a nature walk around the center to collect items for their fall jars.

11/30- Life Cycle of Pumpkins and Apples

Before we can enjoy pumpkins and apples, they must grow. Campers will learn the different stages of life for pumpkins and apples. What foods can we make out of pumpkins and apples? Together we will prepare a snack made out of Pumpkins or Apples (campers will choose which one)

12/1- Exploding Apples & Pumpkin Slime

Campers will walk through the scientific process before creating an exploding apples and making Pumpkin slime.

NATIONAL PIE DAY-Apple or Pumpkin

Week Two:

12/6- December Holidays

Campers will learn the history of Hanukkah, Winter Solstice & Yule, Christmas, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa.

12/7- Cotton Candy Day

Campers will learn what is in Cotton Candy and how to make it before enjoying some. Campers will make their own.

12/8-Time Traveler Creative Writing

If you could go back in time, what year would you go to? What would your name be? What would you do? Where would you live?

NATIONAL PIE DAY-Apple or Pumpkin

Week Three:

12/13- National Violin Day

Campers will learn the history of the violin, musicians and enjoy a lesson from a Violin Artist.

12/14- Math Wiz

Campers will rotate between different math stations reviewing adding, subtracting problems. Depending on campers level they will focus on single digit or double digit problems.

12/15-Bill Of Rights & Cupcakes

Campers will learn what the Bill Of Rights and the history of it. After lunch we will dive into a cupcake baking decorating contest.

National Cupcake Day

Week Four:

12/20- Math Wiz

Campers will rotate between different math stations reviewing adding, subtracting problems. Depending on campers level they will focus on single digit or double digit problems.

12/21- Crossword Puzzles

Campers will be split into teams and work through each crossword level to make it to the next. The winning team will receive prizes.

12/22-End of Camp Fun Day
